    Dr. Jason E. Kooch
    Medical Director/Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine

    Dr J. Kooch is a Board Certified Spine Specialist, in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, who focuses on conservative spine care without the use of narcotics. Dr. Kooch performs numerous interventional spine procedures, including state-of-the-art spinal cord stimulation.

    He has an osteopathic and functional rehabilitation background that provides a foundation for both diagnosis and treatment of spinal conditions. His philosophy is that the far majority of spine related
    conditions involve the “weakest-link” of our bodies. Regardless if this is a single trauma or small micro-trauma over time, “It is our job to identify these movement patterns that contribute to the spinal condition, reduce pain, and restore function by addressing the biomechanical issues.     Dr. Kooch spent the bulk of his career with Coordinated Health/Lehigh Valley Health Network since 2004, and has been spending the past few years in healthcare consulting and research. Dr. Kooch has spent his entire career treating a full range of patients, including elite athletes from Lehigh University and Lafayette College, industrial athletes with work-related injuries, and the Medicare population in the Lehigh Valley, PA. He now has returned back to Pennsylvania where he had called home for over 15 years.

    Dr. Kooch grew up in up-state New York and did his medical training at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago at the #1 rehabilitation hospital in the country, The Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago/The Shirley Ryan AbilityLab. His previous appointments included sitting on the Board of Directors at the Hospital Network, his teaching role as Fellowship Director, he has numerous publications, and as well he has been an integral part in developing several spine centers. He loves and enjoys his two daughters, yoga, and has his own podcast.

  • Dr. Brian J. Tokach
    Doctor of Chiropractic

    Dr. Brian Tokach wears many hats at our clinic. He is the clinic director, the director of rehabilitation services and chief chiropractor at Advanced Pain Management and Rehab. He obtained his baccalaureate degree at Wilkes University in Biology. Dr. Tokach received his Doctorate of Chiropractic degree from Cleveland Chiropractic College in Kansas City, Missouri. Following graduation he moved to Williamsport, Pennsylvania where he has been successfully practicing for over 20 years.

    He offers a wide range of treatments and therapies including Flexion-Distraction therapy, diversified technique, Thompson technique, Gonstead technique, Kinesio-taping method and functional movement taping,  Dr. Tokach has extensive training in extremity manipulation including TMJ dysfunction. Additionally, Dr. Tokach is also a Graston certified provider.

    Dr. Tokach has also received extensive post-graduate training in electrodiagnostic testing (NCV/EMGs). He received his EMG certification through New York Chiropractic College. Dr. Tokach has over 17 years experience in performing EMGs.

    He has also received Advanced Certification from the Spine Research Institute of San Diego in automobile  crash injuries including whiplash and brain injury traumatology.

    Dr. Tokach has received extensive training in and is board-certified in chiropractic sports injuries and rehabilitation. He has received extensive training on these topics taught by the most elite sports chiropractors in the business, including chiropractors from former and current NFL teams and Olympic chiropractors.

    Dr. Tokach is a Certified Medical Examiner (CME) listed on the National Registry of CMEs. He has also completed years of extensive training in occupational injuries and their treatment.

    His mission is to educate people about the benefits of health and wellness, and how important it is to take charge of their health so they can live well.

    In his spare time, Dr. Brian enjoys spending time with his wife, hiking with his dogs, going to car shows and riding his motorcycle. He is also a huge football fan!

  • Dr. Barto
    Melissa L. Barto D.P.T.
    Doctor of Physical Therapy

    Melissa is an experienced Physical Therapist with a demonstrated 20 year history working in the healthcare field. While she considers outpatient orthopedics her main focus, her career has also allowed her to gain experience in the areas of vestibular rehab, pediatrics, geriatrics, industrial/occupational health, neurology, home health, acute care, post-surgical care, post-stroke rehab, injury prevention, sports injury care, biomechanics, myofascial release and modalities.
     

    Melissa received her Bachelors of Science degree and her Masters of Physical Therapy from College Misericordia.  She then continued her education at Temple University where she obtained her Doctorate in Physical Therapy.
     

    Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her family including her three children and her dog. A native of Lycoming County, Melissa is looking forward to continuing to provide Physical Therapy services to the community. 

  • Dr. Bruce Levin
    Doctor of Medicine

    Education: M.D. Albert Einstein College of Medicine, New York

    Board Certifications: American Board of Anesthesiology, Subspecialty Certification and Recertification in Pain Management, and American Board of Addiction Medicine

    Practice Philosophy: Dr. Levin believes that each patient deserves a personalized and realistic treatment plan. Through his extensive and unique experiences treating the most complex pain syndromes, he is able to recognize and treat a wide array of disorders. As an interventional pain management specialist, he aims to
    understand and treat the source of a patient’s pain, whenever possible, and not mask it. Dr. Levin also focuses on non-narcotic modalities including rehabilitation therapies to optimize outcome and improve functionality. He has had notable success in managing patients with suboptimal outcomes involving spinal, podiatric, shoulder, peripheral nerve, and crush injury pathologies or surgeries.

    Awards/Honors: Dr. Levin is recognized as American Registry’s top 3% of physicians and has also earned the Patients’ Choice Award of top 5% of Physicians Nationwide. He has also been recognized by Vitals as a top 10 subspecialist, representing the top 1% of the nation’s physicians. He has been honored as a top Pain Management physician by Leading Physicians of the World, and Marquis Who’s Who has featured him as a Top Doctor in North America.

    Dr. Levin pioneered and developed neurostimulation techniques to treat headaches and facial pain, as well as novel medical delivery systems, and is a consultant involved in cutting edge medical technologies.

    Clinical Interests: Failed Spine Surgery Syndromes, Complex Regional Pain Syndromes, Neck/Upper and Lower Back Pain, Spinal Arthritis, Herniated Discs, Spinal Stenosis, Radiculopathy, Myofascial Pain, Shoulder Pain, Foot/Ankle Pain, Nerve Injuries/Peripheral Neuropathies, Migraines/Cluster Headaches. He has a special interest in treating Workplace Injuries.
